One Girl and a Big World

Welcome reader,

You have stumbled upon my blog. Now, you might be wondering who this girl in a big world is (or perhaps not, who knows!). Without further ado, let me introduce myself.

My name is Sofia and the whole reason for the creation of this blog is that I am currently bored (not kidding, I am actually very bored). I am a college student, and this past week was break week. Since I did not want to do any of my writing or language assignments during break week, I thought I would still be productive and do my reading assignments. However, as we near the end of break week, my brain has decided it is tired of reading and no longer wants to concentrate. As such, to still feel productive, I have decided to start something I have been wanting to do for years: my own blog.

I have always wanted to write about my life. I did not grow up as most children do. In fact, my childhood was anything but normal. I grew up the child of two Mexican immigrants to the United States. By the time I graduated high school, I had moved seven times, one move being an overseas move to Europe. My mom homeschooled me all the way from kindergarten to high school graduation. I swam competitively for twelve years and dabbled in a couple of other sports throughout the years as well. My mom being the adventurous woman she is, was the catalyst for many of the great adventures my family has experienced. And now as a college student, with every passing day, I realize my mom’s adventurous gene in me may be stronger than I originally thought it was (oh yeah, have I mentioned I am a full-time student at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland? Surprise!).

I genuinely do not know where this blog will lead me, but I hope that you, dear reader, will enjoy reading about my experiences and the lessons I’ve learned in my nineteen years of life on this earth. God Bless 🙂
